    Question Sears/KMart moving somewhere?
Sears Holdings' merchants are leaving GAN May 22 and their programs are shut down in GoldenCAN already.

Anyone hear hints as to where, if anywhere, they are going?

Both Sears and KMart are already active on CJ.

I fired off an introduction letter to the Sears program on GAN about 3 weeks ago telling them who I was and how I was going to promote their program. I didn't hear anything back a couple of days later so I just went ahead and applied. I got turned down about 12 hours later. The next day I got a response from my introduction letter asking for my GAN info so they could approve me.

After going through that, two weeks later I got the termination notice.

Sears rolled out a new (decreased) commission structure a few days ago.

I'd feel more dignified in standing out in front of Sears with a tin cup in my hand, asking for spare change, than I would in promoting them on my websites.

I can't right now, but if they were in programs that offered web services, or one like GoldenCAN, I'd promote them because the pages would be automated. From a customer standpoint, they do look good to a visitor.

Sears like Overstock and a few other major retailers have tried to copy the Amazon mpdel and invite anyone to post products on their sites for some transaction and listing fees. Desperate move as this signals they aren't paying their vendor bills and their actual stock is in jeapordy. They'll spin it just gives them access to what is selling ... but both Sears and Kmart are a banrupcy waiting to happen. Next move with be to seek Federal Bankrupsy protection from soon to be stiffed vendors. Sears got suckered into buying Kmart and hasn't recovered from that mistake.

Sears did not buy KMart. Kmart bought Sears.

More precisely, Kmart Holdings Corporation, the parent of KMart, bought Sears, Roebuck and Co, and then changed its name to Sears Holdings Corporation, becoming the parent of both chains.
