Angry Newegg / Amazon Type Affiliate available in Illinois?
    Hey all,

So, I'm in Illinois and have been affected by the recent law that caused Amazon, Newegg (et. al.) to give me the big affiliate boot. Tigerdirect is another one who won't accept IL. aff's.

Does anyone know of a good, reputable Computer Hardware/Software website with the generally lower prices that people seek, that also accepts IL. affiliates?

    TIA

So merchants have not re-admitted Ill residents in light of this?

Amazing. And surprising that more has not been said about it.

Thanks for pointing that out, I wasn't aware of the Judge declaring it unconstitutional. That's good news.

So I emailed Amazon asking about their current status regarding the judge's decision, and this is the reply I was given:

    Hello,

At this point, we're evaluating the decision from the Circuit Court for Cook County, Illinois. We'd welcome the opportunity to re-open our Associates Program to Illinois residents. We'll contact you if we are able to re-open the program in the future.

We hope to see you again soon.

    Best regards,

I just received an email from NewEgg asking to confirm their new special T&C:
    3. Sales Tax Nexus With Certain States Prohibited: You may not participate in any of Newegg’s Advertiser Programs if You have Nexus with Arkansas, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania or Rhode Island.
Is there new development related to Amazon tax in IL???

    DealSucker,

There is no current reason for a affiliate-nexus language in Illinois. The law was defeated, via lawsuit, and was ruled invalid by the Illinois Supreme Court. If you would like, you can point them my direction I can show them all of the legal findings.

Those guys don't really communicate or respond to emails. I personally don't mind dropping them off especially after they disappeared with my neweggmall commissions a couple of years ago.
