Not one of my merchants, but I would drop them completely... now.
If they're looking to relaunch as private program, they should have compiled their list of preferred publishers ahead of time, and not just keep everyone hanging while they "decide", and then review applications.
Note to merchants: this is not how you deal with your affiliates!
Slightly off-topic, I will never disclose site analytics/traffic to ANY merchant... that's confidential information.

They don't share with us that information.
Reminds me of a merchant a couple of years ago when we were testing OUR Affiliate Terms of Service and one merchant replied:
We are the merchant, we make the rules.
Seems many merchants have this mentality...Salty kisses, Sandy toes, and a Pirate's heart...

"Upset"? "Upset"? Check your thesaurus, Convergence, I think the term you're searching for is "piss off".
I'm not in their program, but if I were, It would be a warm, warm day at the North Pole before I'd jump through those hoops to get back in. I think anyone who does is giving a license to IDIOTS to make prospective affiliates comply with outrageous demands in order to join a program.

Before I consider shopping in their B&M here (or anywhere), I will ask them to complete a questionnaire.
Screw it - I won't shop there...Salty kisses, Sandy toes, and a Pirate's heart...

Likely their way of eliminating the myriad couponers in their system. So - they'll probably extend their offer to the many large cash-back, loyalty and "cause" sites - not realizing how many of those conversions come from (are poached from) the sites of affiliates they'll be eliminating.
In a couple of weeks Jill & I may have a similar story to tell with a company telling us their margins are too thin to pay us an extra ONE PERCENT - those rates are reserved for the loyalty and cause sites. Won't divulge "who" til we have time to pulll all their links. Not a really strong performer - only $2,535 in total sales this month, but still...

I feel bad for their affiliates but selfishly it's great business for us. I wonder if it was a directive from DSG or if it's a new NetX policy? Anyone from NetX on the forums?

I worked with the Top 10 fitness equipment affiliates for years, they refused to work with Dick's Sports as the commissions were 3% below standard, terrible support and consistent issues.

This type of email reminds me of what happened with Toys R US ..
Both were on LS, both I believe have GSI managing there online shopping sites...
GSI bought PJN, both went off LS then to PJN, Toys R Us Invited past affiliates, then went private with only select performer affiliates.
And now GSI is a sub of eBay ... how interesting!OpA! Giasou Ti kanies!
