    Exclamation Possible Affiliate Code Theft
    Hello,

Two of my site clients have been members of Linkshare for the past three years. So far, aside from very low conversions, there have been no issues with LS.

However, in the last few days, it looks like that an ad that I promoted on one of those client sites has been hijacked by an outside party. Normally, an ad of that nature (a short-lived sale that lasted a few days) would generate about 30-50 clicks a month. Well, all of the sudden that same ad jumped to over 1000 clickthrus. And this was after the ad had been removed from the client, since the sale had expired.

I am just wondering if there are any tracking tools available via LS that would help nail down where the call to the code is coming from? Or is that something that could only be on the back-end via LS Support?

    Thanks.

Don't you have access to your websites RAW LOGS?

Cant you check that info out and search for the refferal URL to see where the Code has been posted up?

I do and am not seeing any referral calls there. Very odd.

I suppose it is possible that the code call is being compressed and/or being routed through a proxy server.

However, there was another call to that same affiliate elsewhere on the site. I took that down last night, and there have been no new calls to that code since then.

However, it is still very odd that it would get over 1100 clicks in such a short time, when it normally might average 30-50.

I will keep an eye on this, in case any other funny business crops up.
