    Google and the No Follow
    From what I understand Google recognizes affiliate links as being just that and not as paid links. So, what if an affiliate uses a redirect program for those links, can Google still recognize that as an affiliate link so the merchant doesn't look like they have a bunch of spammy or paid links coming in or are trying to manipulate their ranking?

    This has probably been answered somewhere else, if so, please point me to it.

    You really think the big Goog can't tell if links are being manipulated? They may not have that capability FULLY refined yet - but if (when) they do - we can expect expect to see (right here at ABW and other places) another round of folks "crying the blues" for being "caught." That seems (to me) just another angle the myriad SEO firms can use to "retain" their customers.

    My advice (for what it's worth) is never try to game the system; but, instead, put all of those efforts into providing useful content for readers.

    The Google follows ALL links to their final url or destination. nofollow tags does not tell the Google to not follow the link. To It, the nofollow tag means the webmaster is NOT trying to pass any link juice and acknowledges that the link is a paid link of sorts.

    Most networks also have disallows in their robots.txt files to tell the Google not to index those links. Course the Google doesn't hit the robots.txt file before It follows the link from the affiliate site.

    @Convergence

    Thank you for sharing given link; i checked video but it is still not clear why Google always asking webmaster to change the way they links..

    I understand that the nofollow will definitely stop link juice passing but i found that; it plays some role in organic rankings. What you say ?

    The more information YOU provide the Google, the easier it is for It to manipulate the data for It's benefit...

    My thoughts are along the same lines. I've seen a ranking change for a number of keywords that are nofollow.
