Merchant dropping Louisiana affiliates - Did I miss something.
I received the following email this morning:

    Dear Bonin Group, Inc.,

Due to an internal policy change pertaining to new internet sales tax
legislations, Redcats USA will be immediately deactivating publishers
    within the following states:

    - Arizona
    - DC
    - Georgia
    - Iowa
    - Kansas
    - Louisiana
    - Maryland
    - Missouri
    - Nevada
    - New Mexico
    - North Dakota
    - South Dakota
    - Tennessee
    - Utah
    - Virginia

We hope to evaluate reinstating these publishers in the future, but for the
time being must move forward with deactivation for any publishers residing
    in the states listed.

If you feel you have received this communication in error please notify us
    immediately.

    Regards,

    The Redcats USA Brands.

Hey Redcats USA Brand, Louisiana voted this down in 2011 and our legislature did not bring it up in 2012.

Did I miss something???? Also received this from OneStopPlus and BrylaneHome.

I'm affected too (in Arizona) and I was thinking the same thing. This is a MAJOR hit to my affiliate business. Not fun seeing all those "relationship deactivated" emails in my inbox this morning!

Same here. I'm in MO and received this email early this morning. Also wondering - did I miss something recent?

Am not sure, but believe they have distribution centers or offices in those states (or planning on them)...

Seems strange that they'd just drop affiliates like that without something spurring it.

I did send an email to someone with the PMA and she replied "This is a Redcats-specific decision that appears to have something to do with their internal tax policies, not just affiliate nexus. This is not an indication of any trend or insight into state tax policy, so we don't expect any other retailers to follow suit. The PMA is part of a coalition of organizations that track affiliate nexus, we're covered by lobbyists in all states. And I'm generally the first to be called if something is lurking, because our grassroots campaigns have been the most effective in fighting these. It's only August, but we don't hear any rumblings yet of state activities (they're all focused on elections). "
