BN says they don't need me? Whaaaa?
    Hi All,

I'm a previous Amazon affiliate and since I live in CO, I saw a lot of folks wanted to switch over to BN.

After joining the network, I sent an email with my ID and site to the BN folks to look at.

I figured they just wanted to weed out porno sites or other low-quality riff raff sites, but no, they're giving me tons of grief about how I intend to serve them!

My site is super high quality educational materials, so I figured I would have some ads for folks who wanted other educational products related to ours.

But no, they're giving me all this grief about HOW am I going to server BN. Check this out:

We look to add affiliates that are featuring our products on their site. So this could be through a book review, if it’s an author they are promoting their own book and sending traffic to BN.com, book comparison sites, etc.

Do we sell your products that you are featuring on BN.com? If, not than I do not think your site is a fit for our program.

    Kind Regards,
    BN.com Affiliate Team

The person on the other side doesn't even appear to speak English!

From the first 5 email exchanges, I'm pretty sure this is no replacement for the Amazon program. From the error-filled English reply. I'm guessing they want me to write book reviews in order to be part of the program?

Whaaaaa? I've got plenty of options, so it's not a big deal to me, but can someone explain why BN doesn't want high quality sites to send traffic to them?

This is a difficult question for ABW members to answer because
we can't see your site in this sub forum.

Place your site for a review so that members can at least
give an educational guess to answer your questions.

Also, I do not know the definition of "super high quality educational materials" - can you give a generic example of what a super high quality educational thing is? Are they books? CD-ROMs? Software? Please define, this might be a big clue.

How are you promoting these items? Perhaps when B&N offered reviews
as an example, the company is hinting that it would like to see more
descriptive content. Otherwise [without knowing your modes of promotion] it is difficult for us to justify your complaints. If you use methods that are against the company's TOS there's your answer for why you have been banned.

Only B&N can justify/explain why you were turned down as an affiliate.
Is it possible to find a manager's name [head of program] and send an email directly to a
person in charge? Also ask besides book reviews are there any other recommendations that you
could follow so that you could be approved as an affiliate at a later time? [kind of like a "punch list"]

    Good luck
