Network Comparison Tables for Affiliates (Work-In-Progress)
Anyone want to contribute to building a list of desireable features that networks should implement, and which networks have these features implemented already? I have seen affiliates often requesting things directly with the network, and often becoming frustrated without seeing improvements that make the work of an affiliate easier.

How to contribute to this thread?
-Reply to request a feature be added to the table
-Reply to confirm/correct if a certain network offers/does not offer that feature (the "?" will turn into a yes/no)
    -Reply with any other suggestion

    Additional Features Categories:

Does the network provides merchant reversal rates?

Does the network provides info whether or not merchants auto approve?

Does the network allow applying affiliates to provide specific information or do they have just a "click to apply" system?

When are reports updated; In real time (SAS)? Is there a time lag (CJ)? Are updates only done overnight (Amazon)? Does each merchant report when ever they feel like it (LS)?

Does the network interface show a running total of accrued commissions?

Whether or not the network is parasite friendly or parasite-free?

    Added those.

If anyone can fill in ANY of the questionmarks with a yes/no, that would be ideal - even if its only for one feature, or on one network. I'm going through other avenues as well to attempt to populate the information, but it would be most accurate/reliable if it came from you guys.

Smile Many of these features have more to do with the platform
It seems to me that many of these features are dependant on the platform the network is using such as Hasoffers. Why not discuss what publishers really want like transparency, ethics and moral responsiblity. Their are networks that put affiliates in harms way, by offering affiliates offers that:

    A. Don't deliver the promised goods or are of poor quality and service.
    B. Bring baggage with them (Adware) to the unsuspecting buyer.
    C. Don't monitor Trademark Poaching and infrigement on their advertisers.
    D. Allow Fraudsters to use scripts and bots and redirects to obtain traffic and
the only time it is checked is if it doesn't back out.
    E. Networks that use automated appoval of applications.
    F. Or allow the poisioning of SERP to steal keyword search traffic.
    G. Don't provide Quality AM's to assist the affiliate.

I feel these are all issues that need to be addressed because each of these things and many more endanger our industry in one way or another.

Looking at these as additional categories:

A - That is up to affiliates to tell the network about problems with specific merchants. Affiliates would not be aware of any specific reporting procedures a network may have.

B - Part of the broad category under parasites.

C - Should be added category.

D - If not included as part of the broad category under parasites. it should be added.

E - Don't all networks have that available? But it is basically included already.

F - Don't really follow this one as a network issues or how a network could monitor.

G - Value judgement - hard to assess. Besides, its really an individual merchant issue.

Good points, and I agree many of these are common issues perceived by affiliates.

Your points, while probably equally or even more important, are often more subjective in nature.

In this thread as the table probably currently reflects, we're mainly starting out with more objective points that lend themselves more easily to yes/no. I think we can cover your points somewhat in the future, but they are more complex to answer and some may warrant their own discussion entirely.

    Fast login page?

For example, faster to slowest, Networks login page.

    On CJ
Instant Login every time after, clicking [GO]

    On Shareasale
Sometimes it takes up to a minute to Login after, clicking [Login]

Too subjective and can vary by ISP, browser, computer, wifi etc. For me, CJ is infinitely slower than SAS. LS and GAN also much slower than SAS. Also on GAN have to frequently go through hooks to agree to security exemption for login.

I have to agree with that part, because any of those may give different results speed wise.

Unless you and I are using different login links for CJ and SAS, I don't know how can SAS login be faster than CJ login...

I use this link for CJ: https://members.cj.com/member/foundation/login.jsp

I use this link for SAS: https://www.shareasale.com/a-login.cfm

Btw, I always clear my cookies and cache before I login anywhere, so I don't know if that is making any difference there... But, on CJ there is a plain login page with 6,636 bytes in size, while on the SAS login page there are more content making that page 20,438 bytes in size... So I think that by just been over three times bigger in size, SAS can't be faster that CJ on the login page.

But let's not start a fight about who's faster than who, and as long as we are able to login... The important part is inside...

Thanks! Got Affiliate Window's and Avantlink's answers updated! Also added those answers Convergence, thanks.

Chad or Stefan (or anyone else), if there are any rows not yet listed which you think should be added, please make suggestions and they'll be considered for inclusion.

Affiliates, please review the answers and reply here or PM me if you have any questions or concerns. This list is for you, so it is important that you feel the answers are accurate.

    Thanks Matt, much appreciated.

Off the top of my head, here are just a couple other recommendations that may be useful:

    - New Affiliate Screening Process?
    - Dedicated ABW Sub-forum?
    - Dynamic, product level tools/widgets?

Again, thanks for putting this together.

This category doen't apply to Amazon. Since there is no other merchants to search for other than Amazon itself(plus half.com and endless).

But we can search products by keywords on Amazon, maybe the answer is yes?
