Exclamation Hostgator affiliate program does not pay many affiliate commissions
There are posts all over the internet about how Hostgator does not pay affiliates for valid sales. There are long threads on affiliate forums with affiliates complaining about their valid sales being rejected.

I would share these opinions. Hostgator are a good webhosting company, but their affiliate program is highly questionnable.

We have been an affiliate of Hostgator via CJ for nearly a decade. Time and time again we have referred valid customers to Hostgator, who have paid for their accounts, and 100% of the time Hostgator have not paid commission for the sale. God knows how many other customers there are which we have referred to Hostgator for whom we have not earned commission that we are not even aware of.

We have lost hundreds of dollars and would urge everybody to stay well clear of Hostgator's affiliate program. We have removed all our links.

You can surmise from the low EPC for Hostgator versus other webhosts on CJ how Hostgator are wriggling out of paying affiliates significant sums through their ruthless, unethical scrubbing.

In any other field in life, not paying people their hard earned hundreds of dollars would carry a very serious sentence.

They do not pay commission on existing customers, but 75% return rate can't be just because of existing customers.

Unfortunately many of the big affiliate route to market hosts do this. They offer insanely high payouts to market the program but will discount sales meaning your earnings are the same, if not lower, than many with lower headline prices.

We've seen a lot of it and we're working hard to try and recruit affiliates that favor an honest, open partnership instead of those that just see a huge $200 CPA with little thought to sustainability.

    Hmmm.

Hostgator offers $100 per sale on CJ. Not seeing those $200 offers.

The company we mainly promote has tiered levels based on the plan someone buys. $25-$100 for shared/reseller packages. We have a 75% success rate (25% cancellations). Course their service is 100% managed and SECOND to none. I know, we have had our dedicated servers there since 2003...

Other brands within the same group, naming no names, offer up to $200 per sale...
