Raul is just a year or two younger than Fidel, and under any circumstances will not likely remain as President too much longer. He has groomed his son, Alejandro Castro Espín, as his successor. What the people think of all this is an open question. Outsiders should not jump to conclusions that the Communist government will be overthrown, peacefully or otherwise. The government is entrenched in their society after more than 50 years. In North Korea, despite much speculation, there was an orderly transition to Kim Jong-un when Kim Jong-il died. I think anything different in Cuba would be unlikely, at least short of a civil war.
