I'm about 10 miles west of AC, getting pretty blustery. Coastal towns are all flooded and storm hasn't even hit yet. Local roads over here are beginning to flood. Many area power outages last time, 3-5 days, tons of trees down (there's lotsa them here), but my community wasn't hit.

Found out that Sandy will hit early, probably around 4PM. Just waiting it out, prepared as can be.

    Cheers to all!

    Unhappy
    I'm stuck in my apartment.
    It's extremely windy and rainy

    I live North of NYC.
The Metro North Railroad and the NYC Subway trains are closed
Central Park in NYC is closed

Good thing my Internet connection is working or else I'd be
    totally bored.

On the news they just say that the eye is about an hour away from Atlantic city, New Jersey. So you're not that close to the eye.

    Take care!

Strong winds, flickering lights, heavy rain, downed trees...
Will post again when it passes.

    Stay safe everybody!!!

I saw a few shirtless idiots on CNN this aft, jumping up & down behind the weather reporter, who was almost being blown-away in the street..

We're being hit with stormy weather here (Canada), but it's nowhere near the impact predicted for the US - my thoughts are with everyone, please take care..

The lights totally went out & then went back on.
I shut down my laptop & turned off the
DSL & electricity that controls my Internet connection.

There are still strong winds, rain, and lights flickering.

Cable going out constantly, still have electricity, thank goodness! It's time to pull some books off the shelf for some old-fashioned reading.

Amazed still have power but expect to lose it at any time. (been saying that all day) Lost it once. Authorities keep telling us we're gonna lose it and could be out possibly for weeks ( will be trembling for sure if is that long)

Lottsa rain and wind been a bit scary at times but am ok Saying now worst could come around 2 am and wind still thru tomorrow. High is supposed to get to 90 mph.

Gotten some water in house and have towels in those 2 areas. Hopefully won't get too much more. Landscaper friend tells us monster pine tree we have only will go down from ice on it, that will be ok with wind.

Areas nearby that will flood but am high enough so will be safe Got lottsa water, non-perishable food, etc. all the necessary things they say you should have (except a generator lol )

Will be fine hoping won't be but may get knocked off here again at anytime tho. Anyone else who might be experiencing problems from Sandy, please stay safe.

Stay safe folks and don't go out walking around afterwards cause power outages also bring downed lines so you never know what power lines are down and in the water. Being without power is usually the worse with these things but hope all will be good and back soon, keep us posted.

Lost power night after posting. Huge branches on my roof, fence damaged... Wires down all around my house & neighbors. Utility pole couple houses up broke in half, trees down all around block. I will check back in later. May be a few days til power restored.
    Thanks for emails!
    Hope everyone is safe.

Lost power few times and some damage but very minimal. Has moved to the western part of the state and kinda stalled there now. Will be heading up to Canada but think will have lost much of it's strength by then.

Been some flooding in usual places that are vulnerable to it, trees down, etc. and about 1/2 million still without power but New York and Jersey shore definitely got the worst of it. Thoughts and prayers are with all.

We moan over here in the UK about our weather but realise we have so much to be thankful for after witnessing the disasters that hit your shores.

Seen on TV the devastation that has been wrecked in so many places and our thoughts go out to you all. Hoping you are all safe and this passes quickly.

Minimal damage few miles west of AC, hit central/north NJ much worse. Power out 1+ days, consider us down here very lucky. Irene did much more damage to this area last year. Coastal areas: massive damage. I wonder if in a few years where I'm living will become beachfront property.
