Affiliate Summit West - Vegas Suggestions?
    Hey guys,

So aside from the gambling and partying which will ensue at the conference , does anyone have any cool suggestions for things to check out in vegas!?

Thanks! The Shark reef and dolphin aquarium will definitely be on my to-do list. I think checking out the Pawn Stars shop would also be pretty cool.

    Pawn Stars shop
Its a small place in a seedier part of town so don't expect to be overwhelmed.

If you can spring for the shows they are amazing. Have seen Blue Man Group (ran their programs before) and the Cirque du Soleil are amazing. I had a free night last time and saw Carrot Top!

Took my youngest here when we were in town for a soccer tournament: RACING SCHOOL, Exotics racing school is the ultimate driving experience at Las Vegas Speedway with Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche. Now I have to buy him a ride along next time we are there.

I am looking forward to the charity poker tournament, outside of that I doubt I will do much gambling. I always use Wikitravel when it comes to any sort of trip, they have a good list of non-gambling options in Vegas.

Gold and Silver Pawn is just another pawn shop, with some cool stuff that is definitely off the strip. If you want to get in there, head over at around lunch time. I've done this a couple of times and managed to get right in. I've seen the Old Man and Chum there - was never there when they were filming or I imagine the line would be long as they manage the crowd levels to get good shots and make sure the stuff coming in to be filmed is interesting. If you have an extra day, head out and hit Hoover Dam and take the Dam Tour that lets you go in the dam... and hit Red Rocks is you have time.

    Hi Mike!

As other members mentioned, there is plenty to do in Vegas, other than gambling :-)

You can see the shows which were already mentioned. Try to buy same-night tickets at 50% off, because regular prices have been inflated to accommodate for these kind of discounts. Cirque du Soleil tickets are the exception, it is hard to get big discounts on them.

You can walk up and down the Strip, and visit casinos and their attractions. Treasure Island has a free Sirens show. Rio (off Strip) has a free Brazilian carnival show.

You can go to CBS Television Center at MGM. They have viewers-panels, and show some unseen episodes of TV series, some already running and some upcoming. You give them your feedback about the show, and get some Starbucks gift cards etc. If the TV show gets very low rating during survey, you'll probably be one of the few people who was able to see it, because it will never run on TV in that form.

UNLV has a nice collection of books, posters, etc. showing how this unique city came to be.

There are some nice attractions at a relatively short driving distance from Vegas. If you can rent a car, or want to take part in a guided tour, you can visit:
Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association | Las Vegas, Nevada
Hoover Dam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You can also take part in one of our meetups, before and during the conference: Affiliate Marketing Las Vegas - AIM @ Affiliate Summit West (Las Vegas, NV) - Meetup

    Have fun!

    Hello Jeannine!

If you have two tickets left for Madame Tussauds @ 7 pm on Saturday, please let me know. We would love to join you all there! Can you please tell me the cost? So I'll have exact change available. We'll be heading from HayHouse conference at the Rio, which finishes at 6PM. Grab a bite and then join you at 7PM at the Venetian.

BTW, congrats for the awesome travel tips you provide on the Examiner! Love you coverage of Canadian destinations.

Chuck, if you and your team are around at that time, it would be great to meet you all in person. Or we may touch base at the conference.

    Best,

Chuck, I have reserved three tickets for you! Did you want 4 or 7 pm?

Frank - two tickets all set for the 7 pm tour! It will be great to have you join us. Glad you like the Examiner stuff. I don't write often, but I do enjoy it, and of course Canada is a great topic.
