January 7th, 2013, 04:55 AM #1Form 1099-MISC for 2012 tax year, PDF format
Please make the Form 1099-MISC, for the 2012 tax year, available to the LS Publishers in .PDF format. Either send it to us via email, or, make it available on the LS Publisher web site so we can Download the file. THANK YOU and Happy New Year!

We send IRS forms a 1099 to qualifying publishers as required by U.S. tax law before the end of February of each year. (Find out more here: LinkShare Publisher Help Center :: When will LinkShare send me a Form 1099?)

January 8th, 2013, 05:51 AM #3@Krystyna - If possible, make .PDF format available
Dear Krystyna: Thank you for replying and for the information in your reply. If LS could make the form available, in .PDF format, on the LS Publisher interface, or, email the forms to the LS Publishers/Affiliates, that would help me and probably a lot of other LS Publishers/Affiliates. And, it would save LS $ for paper, printing, postage they would not need to spend.
TaxACT now has the final version of their 2012 software available, so the sooner I can begin working on my 2012 return, the better. Probably the same for many other LS Publishers/Affiliates.
Question: Are you sure that the I.R.S. permits sending the Form 1099-MISC by the end of February? (I thought it must be sent by the end of January).
TIA and have a nice day! Cordially, Lanny
January 8th, 2013, 01:16 PM #4I.R.S. deadlines for 1099-MISC Forms
On this URL, I copied several lines:
1099-MISC - Reporting Payments for Goods and Services using Form 1099-MISC
"Deadlines for 1099-MISC Forms
Provide the recipient with his or her copy of the Form 1099-MISC by January 31 reporting income for the previous calendar year.
Mail the Form 1099-MISC to the IRS by February 28.
Or electronically file 1099s with the IRS by March 31."
In past years, I believe LS has sent my Form 1099-MISC to me in January.
I am not positive the information I quoted above is true and correct (I.R.S. regulations), however, in the past several years, I have found the person who wrote that information to be very helpful and very accurate, in the information he provides about U.S. taxes.

Businesses, such as LinkShare, are required to have 1099's postmarked by January 31st. Those that receive them and are filing business returns with the IRS have to have their business returns postmarked by March 15th.
I believe LinkShare's comments above about the end of February are incorrect...Salty kisses, Sandy toes, and a Pirate's heart...

Hello Lanny and Convergence,
You are both correct and 1099's will post marked by Jan 31st. Unfortunately, our system is not capable of posting 1099's in our interface or sending them via email in PDF form yet.
Our accounting team is currently gearing up to create the 1099's right now and they should be sent by the end of the month.
We did look into the idea of having the 1099's available via PDF however it is not a simple solution based on how our current system works. We are working on upgrading our overall infrastructure so something like this can be done in the future. Unfortunately, I don't have any timelines for you guys.
