CJ account deactivated due to inflated traffic?
I received the following e-mail from CJ last night:

Commission Junction has discovered that you are inflating traffic (forcing clicks) to one or more of your affiliated advertisers in violation of the Commission Junction Publisher Service Agreement you agreed to follow. Clicks and Transactions are only considered valid when generated by an affirmative-action by a valid End-User/Visitor.

As a result, your Commission Junction account has been terminated from the Commission Junction Network, transactions may be reversed ("charged-back"), and any attempt to rejoin the Commission Junction Network shall be null and void.

The link that they referenced in their e-mail was for a banner ad that I had on my sidebar. The image and the link for the ad actually was sent to me by e-mail from a CJ merchant.

Has anyone had this happen before? Have you been able to get your account reinstated?

I have had an affiliate with a forum that got hit by a bot and send ridiculous traffic. Worked with the affiliate to get it taken care of then worked with the network to remove the clicks. Talk with the merchant first.

Chuck, that CJ notice reads like "cookie stuffing" to me.

or automatically forwarding a viewer without their permission.

that's a lot harder to overlook than a bot attack
    The internet is a fad.

a few weeks ago i rec'd a similar email from the google affiliate program, but they were a little nicer about things - it turns out i had unintentionally switched a buy url with an image url and it was causing the same problem - "forcing clicks". i didn't have a clue as to what they were talking about but with the help of one of their techs it was explained and sorted out - possibly this problem is as simple as that.
