You can start a chat, you can embed it into your site for free:
tlk.io [talkˇeeo] is a web chat that is open to anyone and channels are owner-free. To create a new chat channel, just enter a name in the channel field above. Then, after joining, you can share the URL to invite more people.

Just curious how someone would use this on their website to benefit their affiliate business.

It could be a way of bringing people to your page and creating
It could be an easy way to answer questions.
tlk.io is an open venue and not really private so I wouldn't
discuss credit number issues or anything that should be private.
If I were selling frisbees and really into the sport, I could start a
discussion on the different type of frisbees I sell on my affiliate site, frisbee throwing, techniques, weather, I'd talk about famous frisbee throwers, etc... with enthusiasm you can create a buzz/discussion about any topic you are interested in and are knowledgeable about.
I haven't heard of your alternatives; I don't have Fantastico installed.

You can create a random channel and invite people but the chat
still is public (just not as easy to find):
