Arrow Want to start your own quick chat?
You can start a chat, you can embed it into your site for free:
    tlk.io

tlk.io [talkˇeeo] is a web chat that is open to anyone and channels are owner-free. To create a new chat channel, just enter a name in the channel field above. Then, after joining, you can share the URL to invite more people.

This chat service is open to anyone. Use at your own risk. The creators of this service can't be held liable in any way.

Disclaimer: I have not used this yet, but I would consider it.

If you try it, let us know how you liked it

Just curious how someone would use this on their website to benefit their affiliate business.

Other alternatives, where you can interact with your visitors are:

    Crafty Syntax Live
    Help Center Live

Many hosting companies who use cPanel / Fantastico have these two...

    That's where creativity comes in

It could be a way of bringing people to your page and creating
    a buzz/conversation.

It could be an easy way to answer questions.
tlk.io is an open venue and not really private so I wouldn't
discuss credit number issues or anything that should be private.

If I were selling frisbees and really into the sport, I could start a
discussion on the different type of frisbees I sell on my affiliate site, frisbee throwing, techniques, weather, I'd talk about famous frisbee throwers, etc... with enthusiasm you can create a buzz/discussion about any topic you are interested in and are knowledgeable about.

I haven't heard of your alternatives; I don't have Fantastico installed.

The risk of having a public chat room is just that - it's public. You think there is spam on forums and blogs - install a public chat room...

True. You don't have to embed the chat within your site.
You can create a random channel and invite people but the chat
still is public (just not as easy to find):

Hint: If you would like a somewhat more private chat, generate a random channel. Note: This will NOT be 100% private, just harder to guess the URL.

I thought it was a cool idea, but pros & cons need to be considered.
