    Does Hosting Location Affect SEO?
    Hi,
Does domain hosting Location really affects our local search engine Ranking.
For Example: if our server location is USA and we are targeting U.K.
I have analyzed that for the same keyword website's position differs in both Google.co.uk and Google.com

    Short answer, YES!

If you target the UK, you should have a server hosted in the UK. Not only for SEO as Google DOES use geolocation and domain extension to determine where you are located, but also for speed. A server located in the UK will serve up pages to UK traffic far faster than one located across the globe. For us, we serve millions of images to affiliates across the globe, so we have a global content delivery network that serves our images from 23 different datacenters located near each end user.

    Dear Prosperent,
Thanks for your reply. One more question. if we are running Multi-regional and multilingual site, then how we can tackle this issue, because in this case we will have different country to target for different languages.

Have it load balanced from different Geo locations based on your region.

It is good to have GEO located server for many reasons such as server response time.
