April 28th, 2013, 03:09 PM #1Updates on Georgia affiliate status?
As I might become a Georgia resident soon, I was wondering if Georgia affiliates were being dropped by merchants as in other states.
Wade said back in January, GA has a pretty high revenue threshold ($50k) & Greg said that was for individual affiliates. So trying to keep my fingers crossed despite all reason.
The last post was in February...have GA affiliates been dumped from many programs since then? Can some be listed?
P.S. Oops! Just saw this: Shopping tax-free on the web nears end, but still wondering which merchants dropped affs. It seems that it may take some time for the dust to settle.

Hi JoyUnltd - For the most part, I haven't been dropped by most merchants. There were some that dropped me at just the mention of the Georgia Tax, kind of a knee jerk reaction type of thing.
- Celebrate Express
- Coca-Cola Store
- The Lakeside Collection
There may be a few more smaller programs that dropped me.
Hope that helps you out.
P.S. I do believe there has been a few programs that declined me due to the tax issue but as you know, the decline email rarely tells you why you were declined.

Keep your fingers crossed.... actually, strike that. Pick up the phone and email your senators and representatives in Washington and ask them to pass the Marketplace Fairness Act and none of this state by state nexus garbage will be an issue any more.

It's not as bad as it could have been. Amazon never booted affiliates, so the pack mentality did not follow.Greg Hoffman

Interestingly enough, we're still being terminated by some merchants because we're located in Georgia. I told one of them that was real smart, given the fact the law was effective on 1/1/13 (this was an April termination) and there was federal legislation pending that might be passed soon. But we have not seen the mass terminations we thought we would experience.
