Senate Passes Online Sales Tax Bill
Just moments ago the senate passed the federal online sales tax bill S. 743, known as the Marketplace Fairness Act, allowing states to collect sales tax from online retailers outside their borders. The final vote was 70 to 24.

The bill will now be hashed out in the House, where it will likely face more scrutiny. However, I believe that it will eventually get through the House as well, finally taking affiliates out of the equation.

    Thanks klance for the update!

This is good news as well. Thank you to everyone here who helped out by sending letters, faxes, emails, phone calls - whatever you sent! I know a lot of Affiliates who helped out greatly by telling their story, which really helps put a human element on what can be a very difficult issue to understand.

If you are an Affiliate Marketer reading this, I recommend that you do a few things.

    1. Look up who your representative is in the U.S. House of Representatives (prepare)

    2. Find some contact information for your Governor's Office and ...

    3. Join up with either a Network/Merchant/Organization that you know who is fighting for you, or the PMA (Performance Marketing Association) who has worked on nothing else but trying to help Affiliate past this devastating issue. PMA You can either sign up for membership, contribute financially, or just sign up for PMA News which will alert you of when we need your grassroots help.

Those 3 things are important because essentially, the real battle on this has just begun. We will need your help, your stories, and your determination if we are going to make an impact here.
    Thanks,
