Penguin 2.0 or "What to expect in SEO in the coming months"
Sounds like a major update is incoming. Per Matt's comment, the Penguin 2.0.

From what I understand the focus is on targeting advertorials that are passing page-rank (both on giving/receiving ends), catching and penalizing sites that are ranking due to links from hacked sites, and rewarding sites that are focusing on better user experience (= sites looking for repeat visitors).

Sounds like (again) trying to provide a better user experience - which should be the ultimate goal. We are rather looking forward to the next update.

I have learned over the years to never look forward to a Google update no matter how "positive" it "should" be. There will always be collateral damage when tweaking an algorithm (I know, I do it every day in our system).

    We're cautiously optimistic.

Btw, here is a better summary in case anyone wants to read more about it.

Similar, maybe to Dan Brown's new book, Inferno (released today).
"...Langdon battles a chilling adversary and grapples with an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science.
Chilling adversary, ingenious riddle, secret passageways, futuristic science? Sounds like the Google to me.
