Lightbulb What Attracts You As An Affiliate?
    Hello all,

I am managing our affiliate campaign through SAS and have been successful thus far. I'd like to get input from those of you who consider yourselves successful affiliates.

What have been some of the characteristics of programs that you've been involved in that you've found appealing (aside from high commissions of course)?

What are some characteristics that you'd like to see more merchants implement?

    Thanks for your feedback

Great datafeed. That's honestly all we care about (besides simple terms, and products that convert well)

Competitive* commissions, a merchant site that converts the shoppers we send, no leaks, good communication, a well organized datafeed, and 3rd party tools such as SellFire, PopShops, GoldenCan.

    * "High" commissions are of little value if the site is full of leaks and has poor conversions.

I like newsletters with links and pictures ready to promote and just knowing that somebody is on the other side of the program helps a lot. Bonuses and contests are fun to do.

In addition to the things that have already been mentioned, I prefer merchants who are members of the Better Business Bureau. Also, a long cookie (90 days) is appreciated.

Agree great datafeed is a top consideration. This means everything is formatted properly and updated consistently with categories and real meta data not just filler. I avoid networks that have no data standards at all. Share a sale feed system is awful with no standards or automation. CJ seem to be the leader in general formatting and automation. Content quality in feeds should provide parity with the source at least. I see many feeds with cut down version of product descriptions or just 100% redundant content. Whats the point of that? Providing unique quality content in feeds will help ensure the merchant receives maximum benefit from providing feeds.
