6PM cracking down on Loyalty/Incentive websites
Just received this email from 6PM :

    Greetings Loyalty/Incentive Associates,

After careful internal deliberation, we have decided to release all loyalty/incentive associates from the 6pm program starting this upcoming July 1st. We are running a test to answer the question "how loyal to 6PM are 6PM customers that come through loyalty/incentive websites?" The plan is to run the test for at least four weeks and let the numbers tell us what to do with regards to our future relations with loyalty/incentive partners.

Several different options were discussed in how to conduct this test, and we felt that the best way to secure the integrity of the test and to be fair to all loyalty/incentive associates was to release every partner at the same time.

While this action may appear extreme, for the 6PM organization this will be an important measure of where we stand as a brand with our customers.

Feel free to reach out to me with questions/concerns,

    Ned Farra
Online Partnership Extraordinaire for Zappos IP Inc.
Well, for the sake of all loyalty and Incentive websites, I will have to say, I hope these users are Loyal to these programs and not to 6PM.

I agree and during the four weeks they will find replacement merchants. Then it will take 6PM a year to try and win them back if they find this to be a mistake.

Had this happen with a fitness equipment manufacturer that we added $50k a month by working with shopping sites. Didn't have coupons or discounts just used the delta between list price and what they sold for on the site to make a value proposition. Built it to that in six months then they said to can them as they didn't discount. Two years later they were begging for them back because they lost so much sales to competitors who did work with that channel. I guess if you own your niche you can do without those affiliates.
