Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos Purchases the Washington Post
In case you missed it, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos today used about 1% of his net worth to purchase the Washington Post.

The venerable paper, among the world's top half dozen finest, most respected in an unfortunately moribund insustry, will be his sole, personal property, totally separate from Amazon.

Washington Post to be sold to Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon

This has been Bezos' big project the past decade - he has spent $40 M building it: 10,000 Year Clock

Should be an interesting acquisition. I have no problem with liberals buying a liberal newspaper and may be what needs to be done to assure we have a free press. Free in the sense of free speech.

Chuck, Bezos is NOT a liberal, he is a libertarian, the exact opposite on the political sphere.

The continued "free speech" is the Post is at considerable risk.

I missed this thanks for sharing, the Washington Post? That's the same paper that uncovered the Watergate scandal.. If so, then that's awesome, not as awesome as WR Hearst first purchase. I'm reading Citizen Hearst at the moment!
