    Yahoo Is Bigger Than Google,
And That Should Mean Something To Your Business

I bet you didn’t see this coming after years of Google domination. Yahoo is back as the top web property (in the U.S.). This comes from comScore Media Metrix, which releases monthly lists of the top 50 U.S. web properties. They just put out July’s report, and there sits Yahoo right on top.

Now if they could only increase their search presence (which would include paying attention to webmasters, like us)...

It doesn't really surprise me but not sure I can take advantage of that. I guess display ads for retargeting

Yes that would be nice to see. Presently I see little to no traffic coming from Yahoo even though we rank far better on Yahoo than we do on Google.

I think there is a misunderstanding

Yahoo can be bigger than Google sure, in another universe, just because they had more hits doesn't mean they are bigger.

I got yahoo by default in my mobile, each time i open my browser Yahoo opens, yes i never really used yahoo.

I guess they have their browser as default more than often and people to lazy to change the home page lol

it's all about search, everything else is trivial. The web is search, search is the web. unfortunately there is only one player and little competition. You have to give credit to Google for realizing this way back while it was open hunting season on search engine domination. With the power they now have the world is their oyster and we all have seen how big they are getting in many markets now and that all comes from the power they got from search.

I've been noticing this trend for a while with my analytics and the traffic that Yahoo draws, even the old Yahoo Voice articles that we have up. I think it's very interesting that it has received more visits to the actual domain during this summer, but I still see a lot of work to be done.

Yahoo is one reason that I haven't given up keyword meta tags yet. They still use them. I also think that the way that the latest algorithm changes in Google are going that they seem to resemble something closer to the earlier days of Yahoo!

Let's hope Yahoo can make a "search" comeback.

    They have been busy:

I *think* it could make SEO more fun again. The constant love/hate with The Big G... It sure would be nice to see what happens with a strong competitor.

Yeah but good luck attracting any visitors from them through search, their search volume is dead.

I rank number 1 in Google, Yahoo and Bing for a high traffic keyword and 98.99999% of traffic comes from the old G thang
