Ohio's Governor Kasich vetoed an affiliate nexus tax bill just last month.
    Dead according to the PMA.

    Is this still dead?
I just had a merchant remove me because of an Ohio tax, because I'm located in Ohio. Effective (7/6/2015)

I just did the update for Affiliate Window on tax legislation. Here's what I included for Ohio:

Amazon has begun collecting taxes in Ohio since the company now has a physical presence (warehouse); Ohio legislators nevertheless introduced Click-Through Nexus Legislation as well.

So here's a loaded question. Say a media company gets into affiliate marketing to monetize their content and they are homed in Ohio but properties are nation-wide. Do they only get booted from Ohio programs?

if they have a physical presence in any state they are subjected to collect tax in that state. So say a radio company is based in Ohio, but has stations in Colorado and Illinois, then they are subject to nexus in all three of those states. But, if they choose to run affiliate ads on their Wyoming radio-station site (no legislation in that state), then they would not need to collect tax in that state.

Meaning they could get kicked out of those programs located in the other two states?

Yes, there is that risk. Some merchants are playing it totally safe and removing all affiliates immediately; others are waiting to see what the interpretation of the law becomes for a specific state before making a determination.
