    Invisable Advertisers
Why are some advertisers invisible or not able to be found by searching even though they show as active as the status? An example is Compuvest who see I have some invalid clicks which led me to track them down by their ID. Then I see their links are blanked out but still showing as active, very confusing?

hmm no replies or interest, so I'm the only one that this has happened to? I have just sent some emails though CJ to maybe get an update...

    Invisible:

    1) Deactivated (may be the reason for your invalid clicks?)
    2) Private program

I've run into merchants who claimed to have an affiliate program on one of the networks, but I was unable to find it. After contacting the merchant directly, they had to send me an invite to join the program.

IDKY anyone would do that, but I'm sure there are reasons I don't understand.

I remember a merchant that hired me as an employee to run their affiliate program returned from Internet Retailer with a question. They talked to the AM for American Eagle (this was 2005) who had an invitation only program I believe on LinkShare. He asked why they were able to run an invitation only program while I was beating the bush contacting 100's of affiliates trying to get them onboard. The answer was that we had one retail location and AE had over 1000. Its not uncommon for national retail brands to have invite only programs. GAN did this as Performics for a number of national brands.
