Help! Anyone know about wp all import?
Hi: I'm working on multiple WP affiliate sites with more to come. I've tried PopShops, Sellfire, Datafeedr (still trying to figure that one out) and others.

I came upon the WP All Import Plugin and tried the free, trial version. Unfortunately, one must purchase the plugin for $99 to utilize the full features.

I emailed them with a couple of pre-purchase questions; no response yet. I researched and understand that sometimes they are slow to respond.

I have got to get thousands and thousands of products up - like yesterday!

Has anyone used the WP All Import Plugin. If so, can you share your experience. While PS and SF are very nice, I have quite a bit of data feed for merchants who are not on their lists, and who I really want to market for. I'm losing incrediby valuable time.

I'm fairly new to WP and have managed pretty well. I do not have an indepth knowledge of code by any stretch, but I'm learning "on-the-job." This said, I'm looking for one product that will take the raw csv/xml feeds I get, clean them up and upload them to the site. My pages are already created, so I'd be inserting a widget or something like that. I don't need or want my pages to be created. I need the final product and correct one.

Does this exist or am I just dreaming??

    Hey HHOA,

Have you had any luck with WP All Import? I have a programmer working on some customization's with this plugin to see if it will work for my needs. Im also planning on pulling XML feeds for a variety of aff networks using WP All Import.

Let me know if you got this to work?

    Thanks

Hi: Unfortunately, I ended up removing this plugin and received a refund, just as the developer said they would. I think I need a more novice-friendly, yet a good quality and dependable datafeed program.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. thanks!

Im pretty sure there is NO such thing as a novice friendly Datafeed program.

I have a pretty talented programmer working on some custom tweaks to WP All Import.. It shouldnt be more than a few days until I see if we can make it work.

What kind of site(s) are you trying to create using feeds?

Yep, that seems to be the case. Just have to work through it like everything else. We have 2 sites launched that are 99% performance marketing (affiliate) sites - with more to come. Have to get this WP stuff down solid first before launching the next one.

May even change the theme from Avada to Responsive or Shopaholic. It's a nice site - easy on the eyes for us "horse" people (and non-horsie people too); just need to figure out how I can utilize the "empty" space that exists in the main content areas, amongst other things. On-the-job training, I suppose... What I actually could use is a very savvy WP expert who I can talk to so I can more quickly "tweak" my first WP site. That said, I don't have a budget of $1,000 as a minimum - LOL...

I dont program anything... I outsource it all. Most of my wordpress developers are in the $4-$10 an hour range and they can build anything I ask them to build.

I started off doing aff marketing about 6-7 years ago thinking I was going to build all the sites myself. I quickly found out that outsourcing was the way to go. Leave the programming work to the programmers. Hit me up via PM if you want to know where to find the best outsourcers.

Hi Webmarketingmas - Thanks for your reply. I definitely knew that designing, learning WP (on-the-job-training) would not be the way to go in the long run. Since we're planning on 10+ sites down the line, I definitely would love to get in contact with some really good WP people. I'll send you a PM. Thanks.

    WPAllImport experience
I tested WPAllImport (and also SellFire, Popshops, Datafeedr etc) and found the product working as advertised with all the things I needed.

BUT.... when I was importing datafeeds as big as 50.000 and more products, the programs was far to slow. (Using WP and WooCommerce).

Then I wrote a program to cleanup and standardize (my standards ;-)) the CJ feed back to only the xml fields that I needed: name, description, price, saleprice, keywords, category, image, image- buy- and impressionurl and an unique product key.

Even then the import was far to slow. For smaller feeds, <10.000 products, the time is somewhat better, but it will take a few hours. Not to say about the server that will respond slow while importing.

I will ase it for all projects where the feeds are small and in special projects, but for the large productfeeds we have a need for faster importing....

But as said, is works as advertised, I think it's worth the money if your feeds are not to long. Support can be better but the use of the program is pretty easy.

Next to my websites, I have a so called xampp-server on my local PC, running Wordpress. Everything I have to learn myself, it's better on that trainingplace.

Mostly I worked with the English PriceTapestry as importtool, very good support, nevertheless the presentation is made by myself in Shortcode Exec PHP = wordpress plugin. Implementing by shortcode.

I write content and display some products : 0 - 66 per page.

WP All Import is something different, although PriceTapestry can do the same.
WPAI imports the datafeed into the database ...
but as posts, including the WOO plugin with a nice overview page(s).
One has to make some menu.

The nice part : running the import a few days later :
not existing records ? Posts can be deleted or changed to draft,
    existing records can be updated
    new records, you got it

A great feature : the script can import the pictures as featured image.

Minor point : I had to translate without tutorial ( had already a PO editor ) but there were also some hardcoded words.

In short : both will do , PriceTapestry and WP All Import.

Has anyone used the updated WP AllImport that was just released? I'm going to try the trial and I know that the trial will be limited. Thanks!

I know how you feel. oDesk is horrible. The moment you post an ad for a job, you get like 15-20 scammers messaging you within minutes claiming to be "overqualified" and will be the right person to hire lol.

So, I sense that some of you asking about the WP All Import plugin aren't all that tech savvy and are still frustrated. I know I was. It works, as advertised, yes. Alas, it's also advertised as easy for anyone to use, but the tutorials seem to be missing important pieces of instruction if you don't already have experience with things like this. (Recently they added more info to their instructions, so that may help some.)

Here's what I did. I asked the WP All Import people to recommend any experts who might be familiar with their product. They recommended two. My first thought was to hire one of them to do all the work of creating a datafeed site. But instead, I booked a 45 minute consultation. We did a screenshare so I could watch him set up one basic feed on a dummy site I created. He answered the questions I needed answered so that I could continue configuring feeds on my own. He then offered to answer any questions I had by email going forward, but I was good to go.

I'm using the newest version of the plugin, and just bought the link cloaking add-on, which also works great. That said, I agree with the person who said it may not be great for big feeds. The ones I use are not that big.

    Automatic translation of the data?
    Hi,
By all I read it seems I was also lucky to find the only workable datafeed importer so far.....but I was wondering is it possible to translate autimatically those xmls into my language? I am running a local website and I don't want it to be in English. The question is actually also valid for the avantalink system if anyone knows something. I am not a specialist so I will be searching for something simple such as an add-on or a plugin which works good.

    Thanks guys!

WP All Import has a scripting language, so you can translate. But if you have a datafeed including large descriptions , far better to search for a local merchant.

    The best way:

[1] go into your hosting-dashboard and look for a the syntax examples for cron's
[1a] look for the docroot url in case you need it

[2] write to the author of WP All Import.

By the way, there are lot's of Youtube video's to study on.

    Update on my earlier post:

I tested (with a fullpaid license) sellfire, datafeedr, popshops, wpallimport and some minor programs.

WPALLIMPORT: newest version, better performance, more possibilities. The fact that the program is constantly extended and new programs/functions are added gives me a good feeling. It works as advertised. For my specific needs I will use it only in situations where I need it, but it will be in my toolbox

POPSHOPS: Nice, but I have, since it is now owned by Linkshare, my doubts about how the future wxill be. Linkshare is in fact a strong competitor of the other affiliate networks they support (line CJ, Shareasale). Will they support them fully in the future the same way as they support their own stores?

SELLFIRE: Very nice concept and was for a number of projects we're planning here, my favorite choice together with Datafeedr. But the support is, at least on this moment, very bad. Sites using Sellfire are many times down. Sometimes no support at all. Owners have some (personal?) problems, but even when I understand that, I cannot risk downtime with my planned projects.

DATAFEEDR: The best way to use Datafeedr is to take enough time to try all options they offer. Very vast it will be clear what the power is of this program. The support is excellent. There is an API with acccess to million+ products, they cover the most important networks. It has a learningcurve but that pays of very fast, there are training video's and a very helpfull forum. Seems a bit more expensive but with all features: it's for us the main way to go.

I realize this is an older thread but it does have recent responses. I believe someone suggested using a CRON Job... That is exactly what I would do. Create a script the will import the data to your data base then just have to ran by a cron job.
    Thanks,
    Doug
