Thumbs up UNBELIEVABLE! Predicting Anarchy - over in the Paid Announcements forum?
I sure hope this isn't allowed to stay:
    http://www.abestweb.com/forums/paid-...es-171928.html

The intro video to what they are promoting implies that anarchy (for want of a better term) is about to happen... "The countdown to chaos has begun..."

I sure hope that sneaked in and wasn't vetted by anyone at iNet. But I'm "wondering" because the thread is already "Closed" so no one can comment - because I had a few choice comments ready...

"The information in this epic manual is based on years of training, field work and research. Not to mention the 10,000 hours of research that went into its crafting."
    Or,

the manual is based on the paranoid delusions of a conspiracy-theorizing, militia-forming, reactionary inbred fox-news-believing dolt, trying to save his fellow travelers,

    Or,

the manual is based on the creative writings of a con man trying to make a buck off of a semi-illiterate pool of suckers who are so gullible as to actually believe this bunkum, and who are willing and able to pay to be "saved".

Remember iNet has this forum to make money and use us to provide the free content so they in turn can attract search engine traffic, and sell Ad space. Yes we get something as well not saying that, but their only interest is selling ad space and not what we think.

I think they are pushing the line to see how far we will let them go before we take action.

I have asked about why this ad was allowed in the moderator forum. Waiting to see what they tell me.

No way - don't want to draw any more attention to them than necessary.

The untenable part is that it "makes it look like" ABW/iNet may be hurting financially - to accept a hundred dollars for crap like that. By association, it gives a bad name to people who still contribute here.

I watched about 20 minutes of the video, which I think has about 5 minutes of content and learned some interesting things. Like I never heard about the FEMA coffins in GA, so I googled it and the first result is a forum post that completely debunks it with actual documentation and other established media. Nothing from FEMA itself of course, but plenty from Vantage who manufacturers the grave liners which are pimped by the funeral industry (probably a much larger scam here, to be honest), some creation that's been around since the end of the civil war and evidenced by ads and articles from the early 1900s. This story has been around since 2007 and not only has Vantage acknowledged they stored their product in the field (since they're meant to be rugged and it's cheaper than storing them in an unnecessary physical warehouse), but they've since moved them.

Since the product is endorsed by a self-proclaimed notable survivalist whose advice is frequently sought after, it sounds like that would be an amazing selling point. Except that the site clearly explains that even thought the video says his name is Victor Underwood, it's merely a 'pen name.' A few Victor Underwoods came up in a search, but nothing regarding survivalism (other than the 'is it a scam?' sell site on the 2nd page).

    I know that Rhia (7).

You're filling in for Mr. Sal with the smiley thing. Somebody's got to do that, right?

By the way, speaking of Mr. Sal, Valentine's Day is coming soon and it
would be great if Mr. Sal would drop by ABW
If anyone could come up with a funny smiley presentation about
conspiracy sites & survival kits it would be my lost love, Mr. Sal.

I just realized after reading Rhia's comment that Mr. Sal hasn't been around for awhile. I don't come by as much as I used to myself, so I failed to notice his absence until just now!

Anybody know where he may be?

Paid ads are not vetted and have been preoccupied with Summit since Saturday. The forum is largely self regulated i.e. members input. Saw the thread and didn't get a chance to vet it but looks like members did. Its removed from view but no refund is forthcoming if its in poor taste for the community. Meaning they just paid $100 for spam.

Ads are self serve in the Paid Announcement forum but go to moderation unless you are a non-newbie member due to adding links. They updated that forum recently so may have effected the settings.
