January 22nd, 2014, 05:14 PM #1Steve Denton Keynote at Affiliate Summit West 2014
Haven't heard Steve Denton speak before but really enjoyed his keynote even though he and I have not always seen eye to eye. Very compelling numbers on who is making sales but I feel that its confirming the end of a paradigm shift specific to coupon sites. And its alarming to see the loyalty numbers.

Some notes from watching this again:
30 Major Brands were used to generate the numbers.
Won't see search because most affiliates use some sort of search to drive demand.
Q3 numbers representing $50MM in sales.
42% sales by loyalty affiliates.
51% sales by coupon affiliates.
AOV was 1% higher for affiliates sales versus site average.
Conversion by affiliates was higher 84% for 2012 and 90% higher in Q3/'13.
11% average commission rates higher Q3.
Biggest struggle is last 10 years - Challenge is merchants & affiliates struggle to understand this channel and how it fits in the overall marketing strategy.
