Improve your blog with a SWOT analysis
This is a tried and true business practice, one that many of us may already do and may seem obvious... But I wanted to share it anyway! If you aren't already taking a look at your blog in this way... I highly recommend it. We just recently posted about the SWOT analysis - so I can share this handy graphic to get you started.

    Thanks,

I could not agree more. Last year I got invited to tutor an agency's marketing team of account managers and the very first thing I got them to do (which they had not done since University) was to get them to SWOT analyze all their clients and their clients affiliate programs. It helped them gain a better understanding of their clients needs and what was needed to improve the clients affiliate programs.

    Thumbs up
I think Brian's infographic of a blog with a SWOT analysis
should be made a sticky because this is very helpful and can
    be referred to repeatedly

I say keep it in the Midnight forum because the SWOT analysis could refer to both blogs and websites. Often it's around Midnight when people are thinking of these questions

Or put it in Newbie FAQs as it helps in both basic structure and content.

I have doubt about infographic posts,
Does this article rank in SERP (Google search engine)?

Boosting up the 12 months old
I think Updating the content for the current trend is also more important. Its good to completely remove the content(even if its most popular once) that is not-relevant or useful to current people - it improves consistency of having only right contents. [am a beginner here, so - hello! ]

This is very useful to think about for your online business. Thanks Brian. Another commonly used model in strategy is 5 forces:

While I don't think it is as applicable to an affiliate business as SWOT, but still useful in parts.

The basics of marketing still hold true - we use SWOT all the time when brainstorming new ideas - it s simple to do and keeps you focused, but agree with Brian post that most people just remember it from Uni.

    Noted for reference..
I believe this can also be applied to the business as whole and not only on blogs.
