Google Says Submit Scraper Sites That Outrank You
Has a scraper site moved ahead of you in the rankings? According to this Search Engine Watch article, Matt Cutts: Submit Scraper Sites That Outrank You on Google, there's now a process to report them and hopefully get them removed from the results.

Wow, that's great! Always nice to hear when Google actually responds to a request.

I have had zero results from doing it. I gave up awhile back. Maybe it is time to try again. Murderpedia is nothing but stolen articles, including mine and several others!

I tried this tool, it does not seem to work properly. I think that google does not manually analyze this information. Most probably they just use data from forms in order to improve their algorithms.

My links to their scraped content reports are not new, they go back to 2009, but checking there today after seeing this, the form to report scraped content is gone, replaced now with advice to do it yourself via DMCA after you contact the webmaster of the site and request removal.

They only offer tools to report Spam, Malicious sites and Paid Links. I saw the page not 2 weeks ago, but it is different today and has no date. It looks like they are updating legacy links and pages as you don't find the form from the existing Guidelines pages, the link to "Scraped Content" just goes to a description now. I think by the time a webmaster gets to the "Scraped Content" description, they already know what it is and are looking for what to do about it. Thank you for the current address for this form.

As for it being a quick fix, they used to have an explanation in place that submitting the form did not mean you would soon (or ever) see any difference because they prefer to work on scalable information. Maybe the new form gives them that ability, who knows?
