Thumbs up First No-Hitter of the Season
Coming all the way back after missing most of last season, and after having major surgery, the Dodgers' JOSH BECKETT threw the season's first No-Hitter, as the Dodgers beat the Phillies (sorry Purplebear), 6-0. Beckett walked three and struck out six.

No-hitters should have a little asterisk next to them in the record books if they're registered against the Astros, the Padres, the Marlins, or the Phillies.

The team average of the best team money can buy is only .012 higher than the Phillies, and the Marlins have the second highest team average in the NL behind only Colorado: MLB Team Batting Stats

Was gutted to see the Blue Jays 9 game winning streak broken Thursday. Just hope this isn't the start of a losing streak

The really bad AL East this season reminds me of the NL West last year - a pretty good Blue Jays team could be the only team in the division to end over .500. It will be up to the Jays' pitching staff to make that happen, and they especially need closer and fellow Bruin Casey Janssen to stay healthy and sharp.

Frances, Toronto came back pretty good today, scoring seven runs in the first inning on their way to a 12-2 win.

Am glad I missed that one. lol Wasn't even home when it happened so didn't learn about it til later. Haven't been paying too much attention to baseball but think they're playing pretty badly this year. Do have some relatives who are big fans of them and they haven't been happy at all with them.

Anyway tho, big Congratulations to Josh Beckett !!

AffiliateHound - who do ya think will win tonight's hockey game? A friend is a big Kings fan so have been watching that series helping to cheer on her team. For her sake, hope they win but umm after the last few games it doesn't look too good.

It's anybody's guess - these are two great teams both playing at their best. Chicago is 8-1 at home in the playoffs this year, so they definitely have that advantage, and over last year's playoffs and this year's they are 13-0 in games five, six and seven, plus Patrick Kane has been lights out for them in their two big wins to even the series. But, the Kings, if they win, would be the first team ever to win three straight game sevens to get to the finals, and the first two, against San Jose and the Ducks, were on the road. My feeling is as Jonathan Quick goes, so go the Kings. If he's on, they win. If he's not and it's a high scoring game, it'll more likely be Chicago.
