    Teaching Cambodian Children
Skunky has been quite anxious for a couple of months because his back was financially against the wall.

This afternoon he gave a demonstration lesson as part of a teaching job application.

He taught orphan Cambodian children. They are the most delightful children you could hope to meet.

Skunky left part of his heart in that classroom.

He finds out on Thursday if he has a job or not. Please keep your fingers crossed.

Thanks, all! Yeah, superCool, Skunky stole your trademark third-person self-referral (or however you describe it). He never claimed to be original!

    Thanks Michael.
People often say: "Those who can, do, those who can't, teach." That's a cheap shot.
Teaching is a skill. Largely it's patience, which I have. I have all kinds of problems with the education 'system', globally, which I believe is geared towards regimentation and dumbing kids down.
Those who refuse to be dumbed down get chemically lobotomized with Ritalin and other psychotropic drugs. It's actually quite evil.
But, when I'm in the classroom, no-one can come between me and the kids. And I promise one thing - I'll fight tooth and nail to prevent any child under my sphere of influence from being put on any medication.

I've had one or two teachers who taught because they couldn't do (and it showed), but the great ones taught because they had passion.
