What is a good conversion rate?

I am promoting the site xxx.

I have driven traffic to the site and it has a conversion rate of 0% !!

Experienced affiliates - What should the conversion rate be (as a %)? What is missing from the above site to get a better conversion?

    Thanks for your help.

It really depends on how well targeted your traffic is, how focused your site is, how good of a price is offered, and how streamlined the merchant's site is. I think most affiliates look for conversions in the 1-5% range. I have some merchant links on some pages that convert as high as 50%.

And to demonstrate how big of a difference YOUR site and traffic can make, I have one merchant that I promote on three very different sites. On one, it converts about 0.5%. On another, it converts around 5%. On the third, it converts about 40-50%.
