    Delayed Payments for April 2014
Anyone else experiencing what seems to be delayed payments by merchants for April 2014? Very unusual for these merchants to not have paid their invoices yet.

Time to stop sending traffic to them, I guess...

Oh man... So glad you mentioned this.... I don't follow as closely as I should, but your post made me take a close look. Barnes & Noble is two months late on their payments. They are coming off my site today.

I've got a lot of merchants who haven't paid for April yet, so many that I'm not too worried. But B & N hasn't paid for March yet...

Just wondering if LinkShares' reporting is jacked since their reporting upgrade. Don't know - as I mentioned, unusual for these (our) merchants to not have paid their invoices...

Payment inquiries sent via LinkShare's interface. Let's see what we get back - and how long it takes.

End of the week those merchants are cut-off if payment hasn't been issued...

I e-mailed Barnes & Noble directly on Friday. No word yet. They have already been pulled though and won't go back on my site until the two payments are processed and I get some (reassuring) details of why they are late.

I'll wait to email the merchants directly until I hear from LS. Not convinced it's not a LS "issue"...

So Linkshare manages the B&N program. I e-mailed them and they told me to ask corporate and gave me an e-mail address... Could be a different issue from what you are seeing though, as I only have three programs that are late on two payments and only B&N owes enough money for me to even care.

One merchant is $600 for April, alone.

Five total. Three are never this late. Two are notoriously late...

    WTF?

We have received the non-payment alert you submitted for <merchant name omitted>.
Please note that we will not respond to you directly, but we have sent the
alert to the advertiser. You may also contact them directly or contact <link to contact LinkShare>
Hell's Bells - Could have cut out LinkShare altogether and went straight to the merchant...

Same thing for me. Must be an internal policy. There could be a LinkShare problem and they would still refer you to the merchant???

    Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick.

Time is running out for you and your merchants, LinkShare.

It's very frustrating. Merchants typically don't respond to emails like that, especially if you're not a "big" affiliate. I don't understand why LS doesn't enforce payment dates, especially for the so-called "premium" merchants. The silence is deafening.

P.S. - Yoohoo, LS Mod...I see you're here. Please make some comment.

    Grrrrrr.

    "Customer Support" - hah.

Anyone can click a canned response.

    Thank you for your email!

I'm sorry to know that you haven't received the payment for the month of April 2014 from <merchant name left out by me>. Upon checking the email thread, I see that you have filled the payment inquiry form for this advertiser.

Please be aware that Rakuten LinkShare cannot pay affiliates their commissions until we have received relevant payment from Advertisers.

For commissions in a particular month, Rakuten LinkShare invoices Advertisers at the beginning of the following month, and they have until the end of that month to send payment. Also note that commission payments to Affiliates are issued each week. As such, once your commissions are paid to Rakuten LinkShare by the Advertisers, your payment will be issued in the following week.

Also, in your dashboard, you can see the status of Advertiser payments to Rakuten LinkShare in the Advertiser Payments History report found in the Payment Info section of the MY ACCOUNT tab. If you see "Awaiting Payment" this means that the Advertiser has not yet paid for that invoice period. Please note that before the Advertiser receives and begins processing an invoice, you will see "--" rather than "Awaiting Payment".

When this status changes, you will see the date Rakuten LinkShare received payment from the Advertiser, and you can expect these commissions to be paid out to you the following week. Be advised to check the amount of commission for the invoice period against your Payment Threshold.

Hope the above information is helpful. Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

    Regards,

    Toral Patel

Um, yeah. We know how the payments work. Doesn't answer the question as to WHY we haven't been paid, what is LinkShare doing about allegedly "not receiving these merchants' payments", and when can we expect payment?

It's not rocket science. We can't be the only affiliate not paid by the three merchants we inquired about. There has to be hundreds upon hundreds.

Pick up the damn phone - call their accounts payable, and ask them when payment will be sent.

    Period.

At the end of business day on Friday - all traffic will cease to these merchants. Since we are questioning LinkShare, and not the merchants, we will consider shutting off all traffic to LinkShare merchants.

Will not make others money if we do not get paid. Simple as that.

Let me reach out to our contact at LS. Glad it isn't only us seeing this. A big merchant owes us a 6 figure payment, and they almost always pay us by mid month, so something is definitely going on.

Not cool linkshare, i'm getting sick of dealing with their reporting issues every few days.

Sure we're talking the same merchant/s.

This is a very valuable thread.

Occasionally, I see a new merchant on LS or I find an intriguing product line on an existing one, and I think to myself, Hound, this may be worth some effort to promote, and I temporarily put aside the years of issue after issue with LS, and think "it will be different"!

Then I see something like this - not just the payment issue itself, but LS's "response" - and I know that the only changes at LS are for the worse.

Haven't heard back from them, or the rep at the company. I wonder if they just shut the whole company down for symposium?

Awesome, more downtime for their broken reporting system. I'm off to explain to 14,000 affiliates why they aren't going to be able to see their commissions for a couple days.....
