    Proper feed formats
Merchants - the Google has announced It's new requirements for accepting your data feed into the Google Shopping. Sept. 30 is when the Google will start enforcing the new feed format.

These are exactly the requirements that you, the merchant, should be providing in your network feeds for your affiliates. Why have / use more than one feed format?

Speaking of proper formats - how many people here wish they could get their datafeeds in WIN-1252 charset? Just curious..

Good question. I just wondered if there is some big demand for that because SAS support told me that is how their datafeeds are formatted. I have opened some and found them to be UTF-8, but the majority are not. I was trying to find out if there is some kind of big demand for that because I don't know anyone who uses it and wondered if I was missing out on some big secret.

Exactly.... Feeds should be as identical as possible across all marketing platforms.
Merchants, any data you provide to Google Shopping should also be in your affiliate network datafeed. More data means more sales!

Doesn't it seem like it's really wasted extra work to make and keep them different, whether its the format or the content?

For example, it always mystifies me how a merchant can send one feed to Popshops for one network, and a different feed with different content for a second network.
