As a beginner, you don't really have to spend anything. If you find a merchant you're interested in, build a free BlogSpot blog for the merchant's niche, and add some content, before applying to the program. Go from there. You can experiment without spending a penny. The hardest part is always driving traffic to your site - but that's the same whether you have your own domain/website or are using BlogSpot.

    Hi,

As V.Skunk said to start off you don't "need" to invest money in anything, certainly not in the sign up process for any merchants, however as the site grows areas you may find you need to invest in would be areas such as

    1. Domain and Hosting (unless you opt for a free blog style site)
    2. Content Development - unless you write your own
    3. Design work - unless you do your own design / web dev work
    4. Marketing the site - Such as PPC or display ads

Once you are getting sales it becomes far easier to decide where to invest, so always make sure to keep an eye on where your traffic is coming from, which traffic is converting and where it is converting.

    Cheers

    Chris
