Those tools can be effective, but you'll probably need more than that. Remember you can always advertise on ABestWeb. The numbers of visitors and their responsiveness is quite impressive and it definitely targets our niche.

I think if you have something new to promote that is unique, affiliates will listen. Yes advertise here and a few other places. That's my plan, I have my network in beta right now and our first offering is going to make people think!

Experienced affiliates won't be attracted to Free Hosting. New affiliates might.

Free graphic services - What does it really mean? customized banners for affiliates or will you be creating website graphics for affiliates when requested.

Free customized content - Will be hard to live up to this promise. May work for a while when you have < 100 affiliates. Can you live up to this promise when you have 1000+ affiliates.

Respect and Trust - Will take time to build. It's not something you can offer at start up.

I missed this back in July.

Like anything, if you want to compete, you're going to have to have a competitive advantage. (Rhetorical questions follow.) What do you do better than the established players in the industry? What makes you distinct? How do you eliminate or avoid problems that affiliates (and merchants) have with other affiliate networks?

If you can answer those questions (to yourself -- I'm not inviting you to spam us), you're well on your way to building a successful network. And if so, a paid forum on ABW is a great platform from which to extol your competitive advantages.

It still won't replace a sales team. To build a network without a sales team is a very slow process. You'll need sales people aggressively pursuing merchants and affiliates, because we're ALL hesitant to work with anyone who isn't established.
