    Nothing too prosaic
    Nothing too archaic
    Here's your wakeup call
    We are provocation
    We are instigation
Here's your wakeup call, your second call
    Balls. All you need are,
    Balls. To succeed are
    Balls. All you need are
    Balls. All you need are,
    Balls. To succeed are
    | Balls. All you need are
You can sting or be stung
You can fling or be flung
    It's all up to you
    When they're being with you
    They're agreeing with you
What you say is true, it comes from
    Balls. All you need are,
    Balls. To succeed are
    Balls. All you need are
    Balls. All you need are,
    Balls. To succeed are
    Balls. All you need are
    You can wait for saviors
    Meting out their favors
    You can wait and wait
    Hope may spring eternal
    Sounds a bit maternal
Do you want to wait, or crash the gate
    Balls. All you need are,
    Balls. To succeed are
    Balls. All you need are
    Balls. All you need are,
    Balls. To succeed are
    Balls. All you need are.
    Others will respect you
    Others will elect you
    They'll accept your calls
    Others will desire you
    They may not admire you
    But they will admit
    You do transmit
    Balls.

It's not the Perfect Motivational Quote because she hadn't said anything about
Momma, or trains, or trucks, or prison, or gettin' drunk.

Oh wait - that's the perfect country and western song. Never mind. Carry on...

Which reminds me of the joke:

An elderly lady was invited to an old friend's home for dinner one evening. She was impressed by the way the hostess preceded every request to her husband with endearing terms such as: Honey, My Love, Darling, Sweetheart, etc.

The couple had been married almost 70 years and, clearly, they were still very much in love.

While the husband was in the living room, the elderly lady leaned over to her hostess friend to say, 'I think it's wonderful that after all these years, you still call your husband all those loving names'.

The hostess hung her head. 'I have to tell you the truth,' she said, 'his name slipped my mind about 10 years ago, and I'm scared to death to ask the cranky old a**hole what his name is.'

Learned this at a job a long time ago:

We the willing, led by the unkown, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful.
We have done so much for so long with so little we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

I often think back to this Rowlings "Dumbledore" quote when debating a tough decision... Seems to help with clarity.

    Some motivational quotes are:

Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.

Life is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

Your problem isn't the problem. Your reaction is the problem.

You may only succeed if you desire succeeding; you may only fail if you do not mind failing.

This reminded me about an author I met a couple decades ago:

"Never to late to be a beginner." - Lee Stringer, Grand Central Winter

An autobiographical account of a man who developed a crack addiction, lost everything, lived in NYC subway tunnels for more than a decade, then decided one day to use the pen he cleaned his crack pipe with to get out the last bits of resin to instead write.

I met him (was friends with the publisher) and that's what he wrote in my copy of his book. He continued writing, last published book was in 2010.

Talk about doing something with nothing! And the power of a committed, irrevocable decision to change.

"When you call me that, smile." -The Virginian

Not really motivational, but one of my favorite quotes from a book.

"Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend." -Proverbs 27:17

I like this quote, to me it almost implies an obligation, that a friend is someone that makes you better than you were.
Following everyone else is a GREAT way to become average.
