Placing Pixels = More susceptible to fraud?
    Hi all,

I run an in-house affiliate program. I am trying to work with other affiliate networks to utilize their affiliates. One thing that is holding me back is my company seems to think that placing a pixel on our confirmation page makes us more susceptible to fraudulent clicks / sales because the affiliate network we work with then has more info on the sales.

The only variable we share with them is a tracking variable for the affiliate network, a sub affiliate variable, and the order ID variable.

Is there any validity to this claim or is it just smoke and mirrors?

Haven't heard that multiple pixels cause security issues. Have run as many as five pixels on a Thank you page (dynamically placed) before. If you conditionally represent the affiliate pixel based on source referrers then you are only placing one pixel on the thank you page.

If I understand it correctly, a pixel fire is actually a call to a script on an outside server that's loaded via the img src=xyz.com/abc.php html tag. So there can be a risk since the script being loaded can be corrupt, malevolent.

Its a 1x1 image tag and yes its a call to a script. Script would only be corrupt, malevolent if that was what was given to you by the network.
