    Datafeed request rant!
Affiliates don't apply for a datafeed if your site looks like this unless you email first saying you are just building:

    Index of /

    Batteries/
    ftp/
    postinfo.html

Sometimes I won't even go so far as to register a domain unless and until I get approval from a merchant that would be a good fit for the site I have in mind.

Maybe you should consider their performance history in deciding whether or not to give them a try. They chose your client's program above others and took the extra moment to apply for datafeed access in advance so they could be ready when you are.

I have no trouble considering an affiliate with a proven track record for a program, even if their site isn't live. But without that track record, we need something to review before we can approve!

If an affiliate with some track record gets in contact with a new idea like DavidH mentioned, I'll generally give it a shot. If I don't know someone , but they reach out to let me know what they have in mind, and maybe show some examples of other current successful projects, I might be able to give it a shot... it's tricky with us because of brand protection concerns... we really need to see some content up to get a feel for if it's a fit.
