How's this for bold? Are these guys new, haven't heard of them yet (See the bottom of their e-mail saying they are being used by www.shoppin.net already):

"As more and more stores join the internet fight for loyal customers, so grows the number of Affiliate Schemes available for marketing and earning money from sites not actually selling anything.

Coupon Sites, Rebate Sites, Discount Sites, Charity Sites the list is endless, the one thing they all have in common is that they live on affiliate earnings.

So how do you make sure that a visitor or member of your site always follows your links to sites that can earn you money? You can't constantly remind them by email each day of all the stores you link to, or every five minutes when they are surfing hard. At the moment you have to hope that they remember to come to you and follow your link.
    Commission Maker
At this point we would like to introduce Commission Maker. An intelligent program that actually takes away the need for your member to remember to follow your link. It sits quietly in Internet Explorer (version 4 and up) watching the URLs your member is visiting.

Here's the impressive part, when it sees a URL that you have on your list it quickly redirects the browser to your commission earning link, If the member has requested it a pop-up appears telling the member they can now earn that rebate, donate commission to their favourite charity, or provide a list of coupons and discounts for use at the store they are visiting at the moment. You can display anything in the pop-up, or even have it not display so the browser is silently redirected. For more information on the commission maker software please visit the website http://www.commissionmaker.com

    Free Trial

We are so confident that you will be impressed by the software, its capability, ease of use and amazingly low cost that after playing with the 100 download free trial and the automated system you will sign up for the software. Sign up for the free trial at our parent companies site http://www.tifps.com

    Offer

For one client only we will be giving 12 months usage of the software platinum membership for free. To qualify you must agree to openly market our software to your members and press. One company will be chosen at the end of April.

    Existing Users

The commission maker software is currently being used by http://www.shoppin.net and they are marketing the software as discount scout. Check out their site for ideas on how to use the software."

Thank you for pointing that out, just did some research, they go by "the cash back network" on BeFree.

I have just deactivated them and sent them a nice e-mail

Tearing up those TigerDirect commission checks supposedly going to the B-a-HO's must be fun Andy. Sure saves TigerDirect some profits better used to purchase more computer bargain inventories. Your competitors might wake up some day and see the BHO preditors add zero value to the sales process from a merchants standpoint. Nice to see you uncover the theftwarez commission hijackers and send them their "nice e-mail" informing them you appreciate their free traffic since they will not ever be paid by TD on any sales.

Seems like the "incent" Dupers like the cash back network love milking merchants behind the BeFree barn. Some day BF will learn that pushing incented traffic to merchants via a BHO popup is scewing their sales stats with hijacked sales from the roaming commision sharks.

Andy we really have to launch the sales of those "mouse rubbers" as these BHO wanks will resort to hidden spamm downloads and drive-by installs to spread their disease.

TopMoxie is breeding them like flies on cow poop. The networks of course will allow them 4-6 months of thievery before they get their final warnings on hidden redirects.

    Hello,

I wanted to contact you about adding a downloadable file (via popup ad) to your site -- a file called "Aquarium Screen Saver", which is currently the world's most realistic fish aquarium screen saver. You can see the popup I am talking about and download the screensaver here:
    [URL DELETED - Moderator]

We pay 7 cents per unique USA install when you show our popup download window on your site. This is such a cool screen saver that people are downloading it like crazy. Please email me if you are interested, and we can get you set up this week. ***Also, please let me know how many unique users you get per day to your site. ***

    Sincerely,

    Michael J.

First, I believe we were warned about Shoppin last August, when Leader found an ad in rent-a-coder from these guys. It seems they were trying to develop a BHO? And so here they are. Here is the thread:http://abw.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&...89&m=305601789

Second, it appears "Michael J." has spent a lot of time here at ABW reading posts and understanding what we are all about. Way to go Michael J., however you will need to look elsewhere for fools.

    "They"?

commissionmaker.com and tifps.com are both very recently registered domains. Hosted at the same location as shoppin.net

And steer clear of that BlueHavenMedia.com "screensaver". It's a trojan download.

spamming B-a-HO's hoping for drive-by installs ...why am I not surprized??? The enduser cannot agree to install these BHO apps if a huge alert pops up honestly informing them of what really is being put on their systems.

And the wierd part is that http://www.commissionmaker.com says:

COMMISSION MAKER DOES NOT STEAL COMMISSIONS!
As part of the development process we decided to make Commission Maker webmaster friendly, it does detect and redirect URLs but will not redirect a URL that is or could be a commission earnling link from somewhere else.

In our opinion that type of redirection is theft and we do not condone it in any way, our software does not do that type of redirecting. If you are looking for a piece of software which does then you are at the wrong place.

To avoide other software "Stealing" your commissions we sugest that you open all urls in a framed window that way the other software sees your frame url not the underlying commission link and you still get your commission.

Kill those parasites! and they do redirect our domain names via this application? is that legal?
