Interesting Deactivation Notice & a Question for Merchants
You have been removed from the ###### affiliate program and all commiss=
    ions frozen.

PLEASE NOTE: IT IS A VIOLATION OF ###### POLICY TO ADVERTISE ON SEARCH =
    ENGINES USING ###### KEYWORDS.

Please remove all ads on search engines which use the keyword ###### an=
d related keywords. All ads are now dead links.

    Thank you.
    1) I have not been actively sending traffic to this merchant in, at a minimum, 7 years.
    2) I am not/have never paid to advertise their keywords
    3) Did I mention 7+ years?

    Lazy or incompetent?
Drop me for inactivity, drop me for not being "the right fit", but DO NOT drop me with a letter implying I am doing s#%^ I am not.

    Now for the question:

If a merchant drops an affiliate for something like the above on any of the networks, can other merchants see that? So if someone was doing something shady, gets dropped and were to apply to a new merchant would they see that history?
On the Merchant side, I would think that would be handy (Not so much for auto approves, but for AM's that do their due diligence) and even as an affiliate I think it would be.
At least until getting an email like this and being unsure if it was a blanket email sent to all deactivated affiliates or some kind of mistake.

Been away, now I'm back. Not as much, but I'm back & starting from scratch. Where I was, was fantastic. Where I am now, less so. Things have changed, become harder. So have I. Game ON!!!

I've seen blanket emails go out like that and I instantly contact the merchant to find out if it is a blanketed email.
I don't do PPC either, but as to your question about the merchants being able to see that, I'd like to know too.

Ya, I also got this from knetgolf.com last night, like you I was not promoting them and not running any PPC, I sent them a little "Love" letter after I received it.

Knet Golf is incompetent in my option.

It looks like they closed their program and this is the letter the decided to use to tell affiliates they are closed and incompetent!

Funny thing they have not replied to my Love letter yet so I guessing korey @ knetgolf is incompetent!!

Shareasale has a complaint system that is recorded for all merchants who have that affiliate in their program. I don't recall any other networks.

I run programs in CJ, SAS, AvantLink and EEAN and there isn't a feature like the SAS Feedback Score/Feedback in any of these.

Guess I should check the SAS 'complaint' report, lol - been years. Had forgot about it. Shouldn't be anything on it.

Nice feature would be a merchant ranking/report card...

    Agree!

It will be very helpful to affiliates especially the new affiliates if networks implement some kind of merchant ranking systems by affiliates.

Right now all the merchant rankings are based on network earnings. A merchant could be ranked 5 stars but filled with parasites or poor in affiliate management like the one mentioned in this thread.

I would love to see something like that, too, but I'm not sure how willing affiliates would be in participating (other than complaints against bad merchants, which does have a lot of merit). Who wants other affiliates to find out about their best merchants? Not me. But warnings about bad merchant practices could certainly be useful.

Is human nature to be quicker to judge/b!tch than judge/praise - more than likely that would hold true on a merchant report card system...

Popdawg, Most managers do not use the feedback system in SAS, but I wish they would. And there is a way to reply to those complaints.

It's funny to see some of the replies to paid search violations. "Not my ad", is equal to a drug dealer saying these are not my pants officer.
