    Chasing our money...
    LinkShare,

Has been written before - being written about, again -

60 days for a merchant to approve payment on an invoice - another 60 days until they get around to paying (according to LinkShare reports).

Crock of crap. Get staffing to get payments. There are few merchants that can be trusted not to close their programs and, in turn, leave affiliates without payment on EARNED commissions.

It's just GOOD business practice to mind OUR (and LinkShare's) money...

I had a run-in with Linkshare support a couple of years ago over not chasing up very late payments from one huge diet company (not naming names, but you're sure to know who they are). Then they got better and got regular with payments and all was good in the world.

These last few months, they're back to their old ways. I'm waiting on two payments from October and November - both authorized (11-20-1014 and 12-05-2014) but "awaiting payment".

I don't understand why Linkshare aren't more active in chasing up payments - presumably they're out of pocket too if a merchant is late paying. Yet they get upset if an affiliate tries to do their job for them and chases the merchant themselves. Crazy.

Seriously - LinkShare needs to hire someone to collect.

    January 15, 2015
    September 2014 invoices - really?
    October 2014 invoices - really?
    November 2014 Invoices - c'mon already.
December 2014 invoices - guess those payments will be in April 2015, 2016?

I agree, it seems like they've been slower than usual lately. I've recently had to track down the status of payments that a merchant has already made, and LS doesn't seem to be able to see. When I call in, the first tier of support only seems to be able to see the same things in the system that I can see - it's once I get to someone higher up that I might have a chance at getting assistance. It's looking like I might have to do it all again with them this week, sadly.

When a merchant is contacted DIRECTLY, not through the LS system, and the merchant says that the invoice has been paid, yet it doesn't show in the affiliate interface as such - makes you grab your tinfoil hat and ask "Why is LinkShare sitting on OUR money"...

I have faith they'll pull it together - I really like working with LS when they're firing on all cylinders. We've got a bigger project coming up soon that will utilize their network quite a bit more - I wonder if there's a way for publishers to get dedicated contacts over there? I'm guessing not, but it'd sure help with things like this.

This is just out of hand - particularly any program with ls-merchant@ as the contact email.

There is absolutely NO support on payment inquiries or even simple support questions to those email addresses.

Merchants, do you have an idea what this is doing to YOUR brand/image?

I firmly believe there are some (many?) merchants out there that do NOT care about their affiliates and the affiliates' perception of the brand.

    Without a doubt.

One merchant, that fits into the above, was so blind and so clueless that when we were terminated I personally stopped shopping their and give their competitor my personal business.

How merchants treat ANYONE, their customers, their business relationships, their employees, etc. goes a long way in saying a lot about them. Same goes with the networks they are on.

Not an idiot. Understand this is a business. But there are reasons why this country is in the shape it is in right now - lack of ethics and sound business practices are just two contributing factors...
