2014 Highlights, 2015 Opportunities
The Holiday season is over and as we get ready for the new opportunities in 2015, we are taking a moment to look back at our achievements and contributions to the industry in 2014.
None of this would have been possible without the ongoing support of our partners, so I would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude.
Affiliate Window climbs the Blue Book rankings
We climbed from the 12th spot in 2013 to be ranked in The Blue Book’s Top 5 CPS Networks for 2014. The Online Advertising BLUE BOOK is a trusted resource guide for agencies, advertisers, and publishers. The Guide publishes a semi-annual ranking of the BLUE BOOK Top 20 based on results from the largest research survey in the performance marketing industry, undertaken by advertisers and publishers.
Affiliate Window Receives 2014 Maryland Excellence Award
In October, we were selected for the 2014 Maryland Excellence Award by the US Institute for Advancement of Trade & Commerce (USIATC). Each year the USIATC conducts business surveys and industry research to identify companies that have achieved demonstrable success in their local business environment and industry category.
The Evolution of Affiliate Window’s Web Presence
One of our biggest projects in 2014 was the transformation of the Affiliate Window website. We gathered as much feedback from our clients and partners as possible, to create a seamless user journey with interactive elements and a responsive design. It now provides a clear and concise information for new publishers and advertisers looking to enter the performance channel.
Affiliate Window Continues Upgrade of Communication Portals
In line with the evolution of the Affiliate Window website and Wiki, we upgraded our blog and publisher portal, TheHub. Both sites have been streamlined with a clean aesthetic and include new features allowing users to quickly identify the information they require to provide a seamless, user-friendly experience.
In 2014, one of our company objectives was to help make performance marketing easier for our partners. With this in mind, we launched new solutions and metrics including the Convert-a-link plugin simplifying the conversion of product links into affiliate links, Influencer Metrics to provide transparency on publishers contributing towards sales without being rewarded, the interactive Getting Started Guide for our interface and New Assist KPIs to our performance reports.
Big Brand Launches
The past year saw several major brands across a range of verticals launch on our network including Etsy.ca, Chain Reaction Cycles, Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson, Caesars Entertainment Global, Navigation.com, SodaStream, Alex and Alexa and TrustedHousesitters.com.
Last year we released several industry reports. We shared our insights to determine if ‘Cashback Websites Really Are Driving Incremental Sales?’, and joined in the attribution and ‘last-click’ debate in our ‘Measuring The Influence: How Should We Reward Publishers For Their Contribution?’ piece.
We provided in-depth analyses into sales and traffic for the ticketing and cycling sectors in the performance channel, using data from our advertisers.
In addition, we released the first edition of our Compliance White Paper. In the white paper we offer guidance on the role of the Affiliate Window Compliance Team, its processes, statistics from 2013 and as well as providing insights into the main factors that could impact publisher standards in 2014 and beyond.
As always, we will strive to provide market-leading tools and technologies to improve the ease and efficiency of performance marketing. We have some exciting product launches in the pipeline and look forward to sharing those with you soon.
We will continue to utilize the best in class business intelligence reporting tools to create research reports on various sectors and key industry debates.
Most of all, we are grateful for our continued partnerships with our publishers and advertisers. Thank you for your support in 2014, we look forward to working together on the opportunities and challenges presented to us in 2015.
Wishing you all the best for a prosperous year ahead,
Alexandra Forsch, US Country Manager
