    "Linkshare" is No More
In case you missed it, there is no more "Linkshare".

"Linkshare" became "Rakuten Linkshare" after they were taken over, and now they've seen fit to to totally drop the "Linkshare" name, and call themselves, for now and eternity [chuckle here] the "Rakuten Affiliate Network".

Well that should just fix everything. Time would be better spent fixing issues with their network and other properties (PopShops) than spending it on their name change.

Been away, now I'm back. Not as much, but I'm back & starting from scratch. Where I was, was fantastic. Where I am now, less so. Things have changed, become harder. So have I. Game ON!!!

For a company changing all these company names like buy.com and play.com to get brand recognition I have never once heard anyone other than affiliates say the name Rakuten ever. Not one time have I heard anyone say the name Rakuten.

I've only heard it used regarding their Japanese baseball team, the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles

If it was an awesome, evocative name I could see them bringing all their stuff under a "brand umbrella"... But face it, it's not. I see it as taking pretty good, evocative names like buy.com, popshops, linkshare and 'demoting' them under a brand name that's at best "huh?"
