February 16th, 2015, 02:54 PM #1WHY? Why would changing your mailing address change your payment method?
Changed our mailing address last week. Was mailed our weekly payment instead of direct deposit, which we've had for a decade.
Why? Why would changing your mailing address change ANYTHING else?Salty kisses, Sandy toes, and a Pirate's heart...
February 16th, 2015, 04:30 PM #2Thank you for your email!
I understand your concern regarding the recent change in your payment method.
As such, when you update the mailing address in your Rakuten Affiliate Network account, your Actual Payment Method will revert to Check until one subsequent check is cashed. Since often times a move is accompanied by a change of bank accounts, this protocol allows us to ensure that you receive payments without interruption. As such, your direct deposit payments will resume once you have cashed one of these checks and it clears our accounting system.
I apologize for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for contacting Rakuten Affiliate Network!

That is the most stupid, asinine, policy - ever.
How many businesses change their mailing address to a physical address within the same town, and switch banks?
NONE.Salty kisses, Sandy toes, and a Pirate's heart...

The same thing happened to me when I moved to Virginia! My EIN stayed the same, but still, they swapped me to mailed checks. It was a pain.Merchants, any data you provide to Google Shopping should also be in your affiliate network datafeed. More data means more sales!

I wonder if it ever dawned on them that if you went to the trouble of informing them of a change of address that if you had also changed your bank info that you just might, possibly, have notified them of that, also?

Not only that... but if someone hijacked your account and made a change of address... they get the checks!

I went through a pain in the ass address change with my PayPal debit card. They couldn't mail it to me because I have a PO Box as the main address on the backup checking account. I had to change the bank to my home address then remove the PO box address at PayPal after the three business days it too for the bank to update my records. Seemed ridiculous at the time but I got my new card two weeks later.
