Maybe they think it's easier to cheat affiliates on Linkshare.

At least with CJ you can see a merchants EPC and charge-back %.

While I agree that the EPC and charge back metrics are fantastic tools for publishers offered by CJ ... I'd have to say that it is just as easy to cheat affiliates on CJ .... prime example ... http://abestweb.com/idt.htm (this was last year but a d@mn good example!)

All networks have their quirks and issues but ... it boils down to the individual merchant when it comes to skulduggery!

Thanks Haiko, that's an interesting example.

I agree with you that it is still possible to cheat on CJ but I do feel there are more visual clues on CJ that could give away a cheat.

One think that confuses me in that example was how they were still showing a very good EPC when their web site wasn't working. They must have been sending transactions to CJ for that to show (obvoiusly they can get around this by just paying the commission to "affiliates" that are really their own accounts).

When I was running the Dotster program I double-checked the EPC of all of our links and it matched up with (amountpaidcj/1.3) / (clicks/100).

Mark in that example they had two programs one for LD (residential) and one for the calling card business but listed as one.

    Mark,

Affiliatetrust.org (a subset of ABW) will really address this issue, in it's entirety (I'm developing it as we speak, it should be released in April).

I remember when something like this was raising hell at CJU. Well, I may be wrong, but the names are all the same. If this is the case, it looks a lot more civilized here. And very interesting, too.

    Herb,

Over 8,200 members know that ABW is the place to learn and earn more, there is no need to shout and yell as all the major networks are active participants (or lurkers) ... the truth will always come out and I'm very pleased that the communications are both constructive and professional.
