Just wondering if anyone here can verify making sales through activity generated by that site. Is it just a buncha webmasters clicking through, trying to generate hits, or are there shoppers? I've gotten a few hits, but no sales. Just wondering.

Most of them are not even real webmasters. They are homepage owners and scam pushers.
Most of them don't even look at your site and some of them have automated the whole process to generate thousand of hits per hour and sell those hits on ebay.
If you want to make your server hum you can do it there but that won't make you a living.

Not much use, except that you can search an area in the directory similar to yours and you know that the webmaster is most likely interested in link exchange. Of course, you can do this in Google or any directory as well. However, while you're surfing, you do earn the points for visitors, and one of your visitors might also be someone looking for sites to exchange links with.
Wouldn't count on sales with that traffic.
