    Hi,
for unitedshades.com ( former sunglasse200.com) I had two sales of about $15.000 and they were suddenly reversed. I got the following mail from them:

    Hello Christian,

I would like to inform you that we rejected the transactions with order id #

    yyyyy-yyyyyy
    12345-234567

because they are test orders we made on the new website we are going to launch on 1st of April, www.unitedshades.com
The computer from which we placed the test orders had a cookie from cj.com reporting a visit to your website, so those orders have been registered as your affiliate sales.

I am sorry for the mistake.

    Yours sincerely,

    Max

I'd like to know how this cookie came into their business PC?

What a cruel April Fools trick for that company to play on you!

I bet they are just kidding and you really did get the sales!

You seriously mean $15 as the biggest sale

    15.000 is a European way to write 15k (15,000)...

Sounds like they were checking out affiliates sites and yours was the last one they visited before going in to test their new site.

I always had to be careful at Dotster to clear out cookies after visiting affiliate sites to make sure affiliates weren't confused by reversed commission for test transactions.

    Mark......

    P.S. $15K = a lot of shades!!

You don't get that sale causing cooking by merely visiting an affiliate's site do you???

They were visiting and clicking links? But it didn't click (while clicking that is) that cookies would then appear on the computer???

Then they test purchase for like over 100 pairs of sunglasses???

Sounds a bit "shady" to me.

Anyway, have you had luck with these people other than this situation? They describe up to 2 weeks processing time on orders in addition to 2/3 weeks for Air Mail delivery...so of course they suggest Express to the states...after describing how messed up international delivery has become???

    No thanks, and no thanks.
