Just a warning - got the note today that they're reducing their cookie duration from 45 days to 1 day as of April 8th.

Since things like clubs aren't a spontaneous purchase, that gives us 8 days to switch the links to some of the other golf merchants at CJ, LS and elsewhere with longer cookie durations

Never heard of Golf Gods, but thanks for the warning. With a one day cookie, I won't have to think much about them anyway!
    One day?

Has anyone emailed golfgods about the change in the cookie duration. I just started generating a few sales with them and this new 1 day cookie is BS. I have spoken with the person that ran their affiliate program, a few months ago, this guy did not have a clue, but maybe if we complain he will change it?

Are they better than The Golf Warehouse (that's who we currently use)?

That's hard to answer. TGW has a lower EPC for me, but tends to get more clicks / impression. It also has more products to play with. Anyway, if GolfGods go to 1 day cookies, the answer is fairly clear.

The last time I tried to mail them at the address they gave for affiliates at the website, it bounced. Anyone got current contact info?

While they're at it they should change name also ... to GolfDevils.

Is The Golf Warehouse a CJ merchant?

    No, LinkShare.

And in other news, the LPGAproshop announced they're ending their CJ program.

Not surprising given the 1 day cookie and 5% payout - can't imagine any big affiliate bothered to put up their links, since just about every other golf merchant offers a better deal.

Makes you wonder what some affiliate managers do in the way of research before settling on their payout rates etc.

Thanks for the heads up on the GolfGods program. I've pulled most all links to TGW ( The Golf Warehouse) who had designed a mouse trap to prevent my shoppers returning to my Mall via the back button for 2 years. Basically like Linkshare does with dead pool merchants with their SO SORRY-NO longer active landing page.

Where have all the good merchants gone... long time passing...

I pulled Golfgods yesterday and replaced them with Gigagolf. Mike, I too dropped TGW about 18 months ago.

When Gigagolf first started, they were a good performer. Good commission, cookie duration, but most important was a good conversion ratio. That has been gone for a while with me.

    It's off to better merchants.

Yeah, GigaGolf are good people, but the conversions aren't fantastic. Plus they're essentially a clone club store.

There's definitely an opportunity for a TGW-like golf superstore to attract a lot of top affiliates with a decent program.

Isn't GigaGolf focused on custom golf clubs? That would seem to narrow a narrow niche.
